Purpose: To index blogs and bloggers that endorse the Declaration of States’ Rights. (About the Declaration)
Our presence on the blogshere as a collection of sites that proudly proclaim their support for States' Rights will go a long way toward legitimizing the issue in the public mind.
The Founders envisioned a system of government where several checks and balances would prevent the unrestrained use of power by any one branch. They intended for the relationships of the various branches to be contentious at times. The judiciary was to check the lawmaking power of Congress, Congress was to control spending and waging War and the President was to manage the day to day administration of the government. A forgotten element is the role of the various states. The states were intended to check the power of all three branches of the Federal government when any of those branches exceeded the specifically delegated powers authorized in the Constitution. Without this important check and balance, i.e. States' rights, the Federal government is left to police itself and the states and the people are nothing more than mere subjects to that government.
The mission of the States' Rights Bloggers' Alliance is to proclaim the simple message that our states have rights, those rights were withheld by the states when the Constitution was ratified to protect us, the people, and the very system of government itself from corruption, usurpation and perversion of power.
